In the last few years, there has been a major change for artists that are Afrobeats inspired in WA. As the sound gains popularity and grows bolder, people are falling in love with the exciting new genres under the umbrella term. 

Perth-based Afro hip-hop artist, Bbanner, is making waves with his latest track Give Me Luv. Released at the end of 2020, the single fuses a soulfully sultry R&B sound with subtle Afrobeats inspired rhythms. Bbanner’s incredibly catchy chorus, “give me luv, softly, put it all up on me”, will have this song on repeat to soundtrack your late-night groove.

The accompanying music video has gained considerable attention on social media. Warm, colorful visuals open on Bbanner in sharp gentlemen’s attire, contrasting against a serene, natural backdrop as he pours out his heart to a woman through lyrics.

The perfect summer single, Give Me Luv is a song that should be on every DJ’s playlist as we start off the new year.

Bbanner is currently working on releasing his first self-produced body of work in late 2021, leaving us all in anticipation of what the fast-rising star will bring next.
