Are you someone with a real sweet tooth? Perhaps you ate something really spicy and needed to cancel it out? Or maybe, you’ve decided to visit some of the places that I recommended in “Don’t Feel Like Eating at the Student Guild Outlets? Head to East Victoria Park!” and are now craving dessert.
I have lived right in front of East Victoria Park for the past year, and I can definitely assure you that there is so much that the suburb has to offer! Located right next to Bentley, East Victoria Park is just a seven-minute drive or bus-ride away from Curtin University’s Bentley campus, and is honestly a hotspot for good-quality food that is affordable and worth paying for.
This article will dive into three dessert places in no particular order that I would personally recommend you guys to try out, if you haven’t already. I will also include the food and drinks that I usually order from these places, the pros and cons, and my honest – though positive – opinion about the outlets and their customer service.

Hey! I am Yogost (Shop 5/1009 Albany Hwy, East Victoria Park)
This is why I’ve stopped buying bubble tea.
Positioned right at the entrance of East Victoria Park (if you were to drive in from the Albany Highway/Shepperton Road intersection), Hey! I am Yogost is a cute little outlet which specialises in their freshly-made yogurt and rice beverages. They are open seven-days a week, 11:00am – 9:30pm from Monday to Saturday, and 11:00am – 5:30pm on Sunday, offering a range of services such as dine-in, takeaway and delivery via Uber Eats, Menu Log, DoorDash, Hungry Panda and the Yogost AU app.
Despite offering dine-in opportunities, the outlet is relatively small and doesn’t have a lot of tables available. Most customers tend to occupy the seats too – not because they are dining in, but more so since they’re waiting for their orders to be made. In order to secure some seating and avoid long wait-times, I would suggest going to Hey! I am Yogost during the day, as it can become very busy at night, particularly on weekends. If you’re not keen on dining in, then you can simply get takeaway or order delivery. I usually buy the Strawberry Mochi, which consists of strawberries, mochi, butter foam and yogurt. The total cost of this drink is approximately $9.20.
During the times that I have gone to Hey! I am Yogost, their staff has always been quiet, though polite and efficient with making and serving their drinks. If you would like to get the best service out of Hey! I am Yogost, I would suggest dining in only during the day, and ordering takeaway or delivery on weekend nights.

Yo-Chi (Shop 1/896 Albany Hwy, East Victoria Park)
Trust me – you’ll probably end up eating more than you can handle.
Located across the road from King Hotpot and a few doors down from Crow Books, Yo-Chi is a self-serve frozen yogurt shop which has only recently opened. They are open seven-days a week, 12:00pm – 10:00pm from Sunday to Wednesday, and 12:00pm – 11:00pm from Thursday to Saturday. They offer a range of services such as dine-in, takeaway and delivery via Uber Eats.
Since Yo-Chi is very new, it is almost impossible to find somewhere to sit due to how fast they become a full-house. As of now, I’m trying to figure out when’s the best time to go, but the crowds probably won’t ease until the hype dies down – which could take a good few months to happen. But if possible, I’d still recommend dining in to prevent the frozen yogurt from melting so quickly. Takeaway and delivery are also optional, but they rely heavily on how quickly you can get home, and whether or not your Uber driver decides to take their sweet time.
As for my order, I usually get either the Chocolate or Salted Caramel and Butterscotch flavours. The type of toppings and the amount I add varies depending on how hungry I’m feeling. Because of this, I can spend anywhere between $9.00 to $12.00 since the cost is strictly determined by weight.
The staff are always attentive and bubbly, and although they’ll sometimes be overwhelmed with the amount of customers flooding in (which is completely understandable – I’d freak out too if I was in their shoes), they will constantly strive to provide the best service that they can. So please, don’t treat them horribly because you just happened to walk in at an incredibly busy time. They’ve got no control over that, and you know it.

Donut Worry (865 Albany Hwy, East Victoria Park)
Careful… this is a cheeky one.
Situated beside Healthy Thai Vegan & Vegetarian Cuisine, Donut Worry is a dessert place which specialises in their bite-sized donuts, gelato and coffee. They are open six-days a week, 1:00pm – 10:00pm from Tuesday to Sunday. The outlet also offers a range of services from dine-in, takeaway and delivery via Uber Eats, DoorDash and Hungry Panda.
Whenever I have gone to Donut Worry, it has always been pretty steady – not too busy, but not completely dead either. As a result, dining in is very comfortable, and ordering takeaway or delivery is pretty efficient. In addition, the staff are quite hospitable and easy-going.
Regarding my order, I like to purchase a ten-pack of Nutella donuts every few months (because, you know… I’m not getting any taller, so why should I grow wider by going there all the time?). The total cost of this meal usually comes to $13.00.
Given how people often crave dessert as soon as they’ve finished dinner, I’d suggest going to Donut Worry any time before 8:45pm to get the best service. Though, I wouldn’t blame you if you just skipped dinner altogether for this outlet – the donuts are incredibly filling after all.
Once again, these are just my personal recommendations when it comes down to eating at East Victoria Park, and may completely go against your own preferences for all that I know. Of course, there are many more outlets in this suburb that provide a wider range of options, so I would advise you to visit after your tutorials or lectures, and walk around until you find something that might become your new favourite dessert place.
Also, did I mention that I was lactose intolerant?
