Stepping out of Melbourne band IV League, to release a solo project, Lachie Gilmour unveils Bluey. No Plans is Gilmours first release under his new stage name, making music within the bedroom pop genre. Whilst IV League is still live and flourishing, this solo project is warmly welcomed by old and new fans alike.
Taking inspiration from The Drums, Beach Fossils, and Elliot Smith, we can only hope that this dreamy release is only the beginning of Bluey. Combining a wistful synth pop sound, with indie rock undertones, No Plans is the type of song you’ll be chilling out to on a Friday night home, whilst relishing in the solitude of finally being alone. Or relaxing with someone who could only be described as an exception to the rule.
Delving into the realisation of self-worth, and the comfort of not going through life alone, No Plans is a song to be heard. Be prepared to get hooked on this new tune in no time. Take the night off, and give it a listen to experience its full effects.
