Although we are nearing this semester’s halfway mark, there is no shortage of events for students to look forward to. Here, we have compiled all those events into one useful article, just for you.
Rad, Sex and Consent Week
13th September – 17th September
Trivia Night
The Tav (Building 106C), 14th September/ 21st September/ 28th September/ 5th October / 12th October/ 19th October/ 26th October, 5pm – 7pm
It’s time to put all those hours of study into proper use. Gather your friends and head over to the Tav to get your trivia on and possibly win some prizes, all whilst noming on free nachos! And if you get to the Tav early, you’ll be able to catch happy hour which runs from 4pm – 5pm. Trivia night is on every Tuesday night during the teaching weeks.
Remember to bring your 18+ ID!

Game Night
The Tav (Building 106C), 15th September/ 22nd September/ 29th September/ 6th October/ 13th October/ 20th October, 5pm – 7pm
Wednesday nights at the Tav is the place to be, with free pool, board games and good times to be had. $12 pizza will be available, as well as $8 pints or spirits; but you can get cheaper drinks at Happy hour, which will be on from 4pm – 5pm. Game night is on every Wednesday night during the teaching weeks.

Excellence in Teaching: Nomination

This is the time when students can nominate teachers and supervisors who have gone above and beyond to deliver an outstanding teaching experience. To nominate, visit the Guild nomination page.
Guild Election: Campaigning
The Guild Elections will be underway these next two weeks, so it’s important to know what’s happening and when. For those who may not know, the Guild Election is when students vote on next year’s Guild Council and the National Union of Students (NUS) delegates.
Campaigning begins on Monday 13th September. This is the time when you will hear from the candidates in the running and be able to ask them questions directly.
Curtin Elections Debate (Hosted by Grok)
Building 408. 1019 (Near Angazi), 14th September, 1:30pm – 4pm
The Grok team is hosting an election debate for this year’s Guild Election. Come along and hear about candidates who will be presenting and advocating rights for YOU in 2022!

Guild Election: Voting
Club HQ (Building 106B), 20th – 23rd September, 10am – 4pm
This is your chance to participate in the Guild Election and vote on which candidates should be elected as your representatives.
Remember to bring your student ID!
The results of the election will be announced on October 7th.

Guild Ball
Optus Stadium River Room, 1st October, Time – Time
The annual Guild Ball is here again and this year’s theme is deep space! This space-themed ball is set for a fun night, with delicious cocktail-style food and drinks, live entertainment, and club award presentations. The awards that will be presented are Best New Club, Most Improved Club, People’s Choice, and Club of the Year, and the new Best Club Event Award.
Tickets for the event are on sale now. The prices are the following:
- $110 plus BF – Early Bird (Curtin Students) Only available until Monday 13 September at 5pm
- $120 plus BF – Curtin Students
- $135 plus BF – Guests and Others
